Marcos Rojo Late Goal Knocks Out Nigeria From Russia World Cup

MessiThe Argentina and Nigeria played at the Saint-Petersburg Stadium match gained the attention of many football fans and this clash was the final decider for both teams to qualify for the next round of 16 in the tournament.

In the 14th minute, Barcelona and Argentina forward Lionel Messi broke the virginity of the game with a lobbing cross from Ever Banega around the center midfield resulting in a classic goal.

Nigeria later got an equalizer with a penalty kick as winger Victor Moses converted it into a goal putting the two teams on level-pegging.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria felt complacent during the last minutes to full time of the game, losingconcentration in their defense and paving way for Argentina Defender Marcos Rojo kick inside the net giving the Argentine side a lead in the game.

The game which ended 2-1 in favour of Argentina has seen them qualify to the next stage while Nigeria will be on their way home.

Argentina will face France on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

Nigeria becomes the forth African country to be knocked out from the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
