The 2016 Presidential candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (P.P.P), Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum has cautioned government to stop wasting money to implement the National Identification Card policy.
He urged the government to continue with the old system used in registering Ghanaians.
One of Dr. Ndoum’s major promises in the 2016 Presidential elections was to bring into fruition the National Identification Card which will be used for multiple purposes.
However, in a tweet, the business mogul disputed the method with which the current government has adopted to implement the policy.
“I am protesting against the waste in not continuing with the old system which I know still works and the database exists”, he said.
He described the process as a “waste of money” and advised government to introduce a system where citizens’ fingerprint bio identification will be used to provide existing information from the old database and proceed to issue the national card without any complications.
