Morocco boss, Herve Renard has admitted he is struggling to come up with a game plan to stop the Portuguese Skipper Cristiano Ronaldo.
The North Africans will come up against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal this afternoon in Moscow at the Luzhiki Stadium having lost their group opener 1-0 to Iran.
Morocco’s biggest task this afternoon will be to suppress five-times Ballon d’or winner Ronaldo, who scored a hattrick in a 3-3 draw against Spain.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Herve Renard said, “those who try to mount a plan against him, he always manages to find something to make the difference He’s an exceptional player”.
Renard further disclosed that marking Ronaldo with three players will be a mistake “if we put three on Ronaldo, they have so much offensive quality. It only happens once in our lives to play Ronaldo, you have to be the best you can” he said.
Morocco must claim an unlikely win over the European Champions to make it out of Group B which also consist of the 2010 World Cup Champions, Spain.
