Former Ligue 1 champions, Paris saint-Germain breaks world transfer records by successfully signing Neymar Jnr for a fee of £ 198m which is believed to be his release clause.
Neymar’s deal overtakes Paul Pogba’s £89m return to Manchester United as the most expensive player from Juventus in august 2016.
After weeks of rumours about his transfer from Barcelona to join his country and former club team mate Dani Alves, Neymar has successfully completed a five-year contract deal after an official statement released by FC
Barcelona claim his £198m release clause has been paid by the French Club.
He said in a press conference; “Since I arrived in Europe, the club has been one of the most ambitious, and the biggest challenge”. He further went on to say: “what most motivated me to join my new team mates is to help
the club to conquer the titles that their fans want”.
He also said the ambition of PSG to win conquer Europe drove him to join the club. Neymar has been in Europe for 4 years after joining Barcelona from Santos in 2013 and won 6 trophies with the Catalan giants.
Neymar is ready for his new challenge and “will do everything” within his strength to make PSG as great as other European giants.
