Christabel Tagoe – A GIJ Alumnus

The third of five children, Christabel Tagoe was born to Madam Martha Tagoe and Mr. Abraham Tagoe on the 10th of June 1995 at Ga-Mashie.

She had her basic education at the United Family Academy from 2007 to 2010 and furthered to Benkum Senior High School from 2010 where she completed in 2013.

Christabel Tagoe got admission into the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) in 2013 where she pursued B.A in Communication Studies (Journalism to be precise).

“Being in G.I.J had always been my dream and having spent four sequential years in the institution is such a privilege and a dream come true.”

Her first year in school was overwhelming as she got to meet people from different backgrounds. She joined the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in her second year and was an active member.

At the latter part of her second year in GIJ, she became a member of a campaign team dubbed "I love Ghana campaign" and was awarded amongst her colleagues for being part of the winning.

She is currently undertaking her National Service at Asesewa Methodist Junior High School in the Upper Menya Krobo district.

She aspires and willing to work in the public sphere for some time and later offer her Master’s Degree in Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Her advice to students, is to take practical work very seriously, as it will be required of them during their National Service period and should also, attend lectures on time and not to joke with their assignments.
