Ghanaians woke up today to a shocking news as the first gentleman of the land, John Dramani Mahama loses his mother, Hajia Abiba Nnaba last night. She died on June 14, 2016 at age eighty-five (85). Cause of her death as of now is unclear.
The minister of communications, Edward Omane Boamah confirmed her passing away.
Gijonlinenews has gathered that the late Hajia Abiba Nnaba will be burried today at her hometown, Busunu in the Northern region. This is in accordance to the Islamic tradition, as Hajia was noted for her commitment to her maker.
Hajia Abiba Nnaba left behind six children including His Excellency John Mahama. Her husband was the late Emmanuel Adama Mahama, a Ghanaian politician who served as the first minister of state for the Northern Region under the Nkrumah government.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has held on to his ‘accounting to the people’ tour across the country in order to mourn and burry his beloved mother.
Several people across the world, including top political wings have been flooding the president’s facebook and twitter pages with message of condolences. One of them is the NPP’s flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, who twitted saying: “I extend my condolences to @JDMahama and his family on the passing of his mother, Madam Abiba Nnaba. May she rest in perfect peace.”
Other youth groups of the National Democratic Congress, NDC also extended their heartfelt messages to President Mahama on the death of his mother.
