Undefeated Ghanaian boxer Richard Commey (24-0, 22 KOs) is set to face Robert Easter Jr (17-0, 14 KOs) for the vacant IBF World Lightweight title.
The often-avoided fighter, who is a mandatory challenger for the IBF strap, was anticipating a showdown with champion Rances Barthlemey. He was at the ringside to watch the Cuban defend his title against Mickey Bey on 3rd June, 2016.
However, the IBF ordered Easter Jr. (next highest ranked contender) to face Commey after Barthlemey opted to vacate the title rather than face the Ghanaian, for the vacant belt.
In an interview, Commey expressed delight at landing his long-awaited World title shot.

According to the promoter, Team Sauerland, both parties have agreed to the fight in writing and have until July 6 to come to an agreement before the IBF calls for purse bids.
