Belinda Akpene deke is the current Women’s Commissioner for the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS), A LEVEL 400 Journalism student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism and first child to her parents.

Due to her selfless dedication, diligence and hardwork in serving professional students including; Ghana Institute of Journalism, African University college of Communications, Jayee University, University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana Institute of Languages among others, she has been nominated by the national Students Award for the category of Best student Women’s Commissioner.

Miss Belinda successfully organised a creative forum dubbed: ‘Advancing Creativity in the Professional’. It was honoured by the Deputy Minister for Tourism and Creative arts; Hon. Dzifa Abla Gomashie among others.

The session included practical ways of making bead accessories, tying of creative head gears, advancing as a student entrepreneur and creative spoken words.

She has also contributed to some national issues including the rise of sex tapes on tertiary campuses which was broadcasted in the Enquirer newspaper and other online news websites.

Her philosophy in life is that; ‘the strength of a woman is never realised unless put to task’.

She is currently working on her last project before handing over in septemer, thus; FACE OF GUPS 2016. It’s a pageant coming on, on the 20th of august, with the theme ‘advancing Women Entrepreneurs’ that sees one lady each of member institutions of GUPS competing for the crown prizes and bragging rights.

She is an astute Christian fellowshipping at the Trueword Life Church-Tema.

Her hobbies are making bead accessories and singing, she is an entrepreneur with her brand name as ‘Akpe Beads & Accessories’ and as well as a passionate minister of the gospel.
