The new campus for the Ghana Institute of Journalism at Okonglo near Legon has gradually taken shape and work on the four storey building seems to be in progress but a visit to the site shows otherwise even though wiring, plumbing and cable works have been completed.
The Registrar, Mr. Perry Ofosu in an interview with GIJ online disclosed that he cannot give a final date for the completion. Due to lack of further funding from GETFUND, painting and other civil works on the site has been halted. This challenge according to the Registrar has disturbed the completion deadline that was scheduled for April this year. He disclosed that the management had planned to move a section of the students to the new site next academic year but this plan is currently on hold.
