Barely ten days after completing their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), some pupils have expressed their concern about the gap period they have to be at home before the release of the examination results. Speaking to gijonlinenews.com the pupils’ explained that so far staying home has not been as exciting as expected. Richmond, a recent BECE graduand shares his view ‘my perception about completing school has been challenged. I felt staying home would be fun.’ Some pupils also claim they have been spending their time idling about or hanging around their former schools.
Meanwhile, many graduands intend to use their gap period helping their parents in their business or use the opportunity to learn other things including trade. ‘I intend to help my uncle in his businessand save some money to support my Senior High School education’ says Gifty, another BECE graduand.
Yussif, yet another BECE graduand added his voice, ‘I want to work as a mechanic while I await my results not only to save money but also to acquire practical knowledge of the course I will offer in SHS.’
The graduands also have interest in spending the days with their long distance relatives but they however, have confidence that they will come out victorious.
