Ghana’s Ambassador to South Africa Kwesi Ahwoi has honored gospel artiste Joe Mettle in Pretoria South Africa. The artiste who was invited to the Ghana High Commission in Pretoria after he put up a sterling performance, won the best male artiste award at Trumpet Africa Gospel Music Award (TAGMA) which was held at the South Africa State Theatre in Pretoria.
He dedcated his award to the Ambassador. Joe performed alongside Pastor Benjamin Dube and some veteran South African musicians. The event attracted various gospel singers and audience around the African continent including the Soweto Gospel Choir.
After losing the Vodafone Gospel Artiste of the year in May (2016), Joe Mettle for the second time in two months has been awarded the Best Male Artiste in SA by the RIGA awards held in Johannesburg and the TAGMA’s.
The Trumpet Africa Gospel Music Awards is aimed at honoring gospel artiste in Africa and the diaspora. There were some other veteran singers like Pastor Benjamin Dube and Rebecca Malope who were crowned king and queen of gospel music in Africa.
Joe Mettle is set to bring another edition of his annual Praiz Reloaded Concert this month, slated for 26th June at Liberty Hall (Fountain Head College) Tema Community12 at 5pm.
The event is in its 5th year and is expected to be another awesome worship experience. It is under the theme ‘Tabernacle of David’ (#TOD). Sammie Okposo a gospel artiste from Nigeria, Becky Bonne and Pastor Isaiah Fosu Kwakye Jnr would be performing as well. There will be a free music seminar from 10am to 4pm on 25th June at the same venue.
