BET 2016: And the Best International Act, Africa is not MzVee

Either our Ghanaians did not pray too hard or something because the only Ghanaian nominated for this year’s BET Awards, MzVee did not win.

Nominated for the Best International Act, Africa category, she as well as other nominees Yemi Alade, Wizkid, MzVee, AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Diamond Platnumz and Serge Beynaud lost out to Black Coffee,a record producer and DJ from South Africa at an event held on Saturday at the Staples Centre in LA.
Black Coffee was announced winner ahead of the main event which will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, United States of America on Sunday, June 26.

Last year, Dancehall musician Stonebwoy beat Ghana’s Rap King, Sarkodie, AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria) to win the same category. Too bad we couldn’t keep the award in Ghana this year.

  1. Okay o. We hear. *wink*

  2. Okay. That's sad. But she was nominated. To me, that's the most relevant thing.
