Did you also know a person whose temperament is timid of negative, or who avoids anything dangerous maybe more prone to generalized anxiety disorders than others are?

Well according to health experts, 60% of women are diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorders somewhat often that men are. What though is an anxiety disorder?

Anxiety disorder is therefore a physiological, psychological and emotional state that result when one behaves apprehensively. This condition can affect anyone, it doesn’t distinguish between age, background or social group.

 Even some of the most confident people in society may have suffered with anxiety. Meanwhile, anxiety among young people of today cannot be over looked, in the sense that, 1in 6 young people experience an anxiety problem at some point in their lives. Some of the things young people feel anxious about are money, exams/examination results, relationships, as well as new items.

  Children of all ages are also said to be affected with anxiety because, recent research have shown that, one in eight children suffer from anxiety, in that untreated children with anxiety disorders are at higher risk to perform poorly in school, miss out on important social experiences, and engage in substance abuse.

Anxiety disorders among young people of today, may be as a result of some external factors which may include stress from school, work, personal relationship, finances, emotional trauma such  as the death of a loved one among others.

More often than not, experiencing anxiety can leave one feeling tired, upset and frustrated. This can make one feel that, there is nothing that one can do to improve the situation.

In an interaction with some number of young people, they expressed some of the things that they feel anxious about as well as how they deal with them. Some said they feel anxious when they are awaiting their examination results, or in expectant of something and it isn’t forth coming. Others also said, they feel anxious about who their future partners would be, their future careers as well as their financial obligations.

They expressed how they deal with these anxieties, some said they pray to their maker, take deep breath and re start with everything, whiles others said they chat with friends and finally stay focus. However some health experts have also advised on how young people of today can manage anxiety disorders.

They advised young people to eat well balanced meals, limit intake of alcohol and caffeine get enough sleep, exercise daily, and take in deep breath regularly among others.
